Keep seeing comments wondering about how and where you will be able to play the game.
The whole reason we've been doing this new engine thing is to have it be playable both on your PC and in browsers via html5. I'm still working in flash, but it's not exported as an swf any longer, so Fallow has worked on optimization and other visual problems along with the animation coding. So don't worry about that, you'll be able to play any new releases on most things.

Right now, I'm unsure if I'll be able to add new SFX before the demo releases. Sound guys are being rather... unmanageable. Would be quite a shame if they don't deliver on time, since I don't want to just keep on waiting and waiting for an unknown amount of time.
We're smoothing things out currently, though. Most things are working properly, leaving just tweakings to this and that and making small improvements.
I am probably gonna make a small effort to include some more particle effects before the demo will be released, which shouldn't be anything complex at all. Just gotta animate some of it, maybe I'll stream it even.
But I'm gonna aim to finish a drawing by tuesday first! I spent a lot of time today failing to get anything done because everything I drew wound up looking extremely stiff and unnatural. SO I'm gonna go at it from a different angle tomorrow and hope it goes better.

The aliasing issue has been solved, now the game should look as crisp as possibly can be!

Along with the worst of the bugs ironed out at this point, I have to make some additional tweaking to various things, then do another play test run. I can't imagine there's gonna be any more major issues other than further tweaking past that. Don't want to promise too much, but I'm feeling a new demo test release is coming soon.

Got another horse X Sofi themed fan art piece this week as well, this game sure is making things difficult for Sofi!

Didn't really do anything spooky in time for Halloween this year. I was busy with everything else!
So this will just be a regular, plain update!

I finished another drawing, which turned out to be a comic, too.
The Asshole Photo, an idea I had a while ago. It's a bit more lighthearted from the stuff I usually do.

Now I'm gonna put any more complex drawings aside for a while, I'm quite exhausted making comics...

If you're curious about the demo, we're still working on fixing bugs and making tweaks. I've even spent some time adding in new features and details, which I'm sure will be appreciated. Again, can't say how long it's gonna take or anything, but it's looking good. We've cut the current bug list in half, and most things that remain right now are implementing these new elements I was talking about earlier. Once those are done, I'm gonna have to do another playthrough and see if anything else pops up.

Until then, I suppose I shall continue working with the Zu&Jo part.
Oh ye, I also got Zu's voice lines and stuff, so I got some audio editing to do... Guess I know what I'm gonna be doing today, then, huh.

I added in additional clothing options to the Sofi part along with doing some bug fixing and updating of various graphics... It's starting to become pretty interesting, even though I'm awful at designing and coloring things like socks and shirts. Even so, there's hopefully something for everyone in there.

I don't have a way to embed videos directly onto RC.se as it is now, so you'll have to look at it on twitter, unfortunately.

Once I've fixed up some stupid mistakes I made with some of the graphics of certain options, I might make a little collage displaying the different options, and have people suggest things that I could improve when it comes to either design or color. Blah.

Zu now has around 80 different eye expressions. Neat, huh?

I'm not completely done with them yet, I have to do some eyebrow work and make some blinking frames, but that's not very troublesome. I'm not sure if I should proceed with Johanna's eyes after this or work on the mouth. But I think doing Jo's eyes first would make most sense.

Also, play testing and tweaking is being done with Sofi's part. There are so many things that need to be fixed, but we're making progress at least. The worst thing about this currently is an ugly aliasing issue. Hopefully we can get rid of all that stuff eventually.

There are still some things that are missing in this build, which will probably be added down another demo further down the line. Just trying to make this playable as it is is a challenge already! Always find something that's not working as intended or needs to be tweaked this way or that way.
But I gotta say, Sofi's face looks sooo much better, and she's way more expressive and talkative and customizable.
I'm not used to having so many customization options for my projects, so I find it fun to just play around with it. Hoahoa.


By next week, I'm aiming to have finished up that comic page I've been talking about previously and Sofi's new ref.

I was rendering a video all sunday night, so I kinda forgot to post an update. Sorry about that.

Here's another comic that was voted forward on discord.
The Sentencing of Lollo, a movie idea I've had for a while I turned into a comic instead.

I was relieved to see that a regular drawing won the poll of what to draw after this comic, only to find that the commissioner changed his mind and now wants his idea be a comic page too. Drat.
Oh well, it's a good idea, almost nostalgic for me. I'm going to enjoy making it.

Here's that new Sofi ref I've talked about earlier. I've been tweaking it a lot to get the proportions right and such, what do you think? Don't mind the colors being off at places, it is just placeholder shade tones.


Also got a piece of fan art to show today, part of a deal I made with a commissioner.

Been looking to get a demo out for the Sofi part in our new engine, or whatever we should call it. Since I've mostly been focusing on the customization, I haven't actually play tested it in a while... And while doing so, there was a whole lot of things to tweak and fix. Fallow said that none of the things were probably not too difficult to fix though, so there's that. Don't know when we can expect a release though; but we're at least getting close to something here.

I also had to try to design a main menu screen for the project... Luckily I've got some good people on my server that are way better at design than I am, so we managed to get something acceptable out of it. Now what's in front of me animation wise is only doing eye and mouth expressions. It's gonna be a lot of expressions... Lots of struggling with shape tweens. Bleh.

No drawings to show this week; another comic page was voted forward. So I only today finished up the sketch of it, might be able to finish it in time for next update. Been drawing up a new Sofi ref too... Not confident in it yet though, I messed up the legs royally, but I'm very satisfied with her head and hair.

I was going to post this update yesterday but... I apparently forgot to actually post it; I just wrote it up and then went to bed. Oops.
