I don't know why it happens, but the sound will eventually stop completely if I keep this running for long enough(no changes to my volume settings fixes this, but restarting the game does). I'm using Windows 11, if that has anything to do with it. Apart from that, I love it.

To add, the in-game volume sliders don't do anything when the sound stops.
