I'd just ignore them, you don't have to explain yourself to anyone. Besides there's plenty of other creators on patreon that put out a beta of their games to find bugs or get feedback on changes. Heck game developers do it all the time and charge extra for early access to a pre-release. That guy was ignorant to say the least.
