Oh well, seems I was too late to assist. For the future, it might be a good idea to keep a live-CD of an OS for data recovery (I highly recommend a Puppy Linux distro; PupRescue Precise is especially great for data recovery). All you have to do is boot into Puppy and copy your stuff to a backup drive.

The problem there Sholum is that the NTFS partition table on his primary OS drive was corrupted. I had him boot into Debian Live for diagnostics and the drive was inaccessible. We ended up using TestDisk to pull the data off raw onto another drive
