There is a story behind why he took the alias "Rock Candy". I imagine he really isn't trying to keep it a secret as he revealed it in one of his Earthbound streams. Basically, RC really likes an old NES game called Earthbound. Now in Earthbound there is a bug/exploit which allows you to basically convert Sugar Packets or Jars of Delisauce into Rock Candy by doing some very specific things within your inventory. When you eat the Rock Sandy it will increase your character's stats.
